Two latches hold the lid

A latching lid is held down at both ends by handles that fold over the rim, so the bin can be carried by those handles and stacked under another without the lid lifting. The Secure Latch line runs from the 7.5 qt bin, the size of a desk drawer, to the 112 qt bin. The underbed versions are long and low, about 6.12 inches tall, so they slide under a bed frame.

The latching totes go bigger still: 10, 20 and 30 gallons, with a clear base and dark lids. Latch colors differ by pack, gray, blue or black on most, and each product page shows them as swatches. If you stack bins in a closet, keep one latch color per room and you will know what is inside before you read a label.

Yes. The lid sits flat once both latches are down, and the bins stack lid on base. Put the heaviest one at the bottom.

Which HOMZ latching bins can you slide under a bed?

The Secure Latch underbed bins, 56 qt and 60 qt, are about 6.12 inches tall. Check the gap under your bed frame against that height first.

Can young children open your HOMZ latching bins?

Treat any lidded bin as storage, not a toy chest. CPSC warns that children can get trapped in chests with closing lids, so keep large bins closed, latched and out of play areas.
