The 30-gallon size is for the loads that fill a car trunk. Each tote measures 32 by 19 by 17.18 inches, enough for a full set of holiday decorations or the tent, sleeping pads and cookware of one camping trip.

Its base is clear, and you see the contents from across the garage. A bin of extension cords looks nothing like a bin of beach towels, so you pull the right one on the first try.

Our black lids close the totes and let them stack. Two in a column stand about as tall as a workbench, and the top one stays within easy reach. Put the heavier tote at the bottom.
